Global Head of Pre-Sales
Location: London (Hybrid)The Global Head of Pre-Sales is an integral member of SmartStream’s Business Solutions team which is responsible for business development in the region. Dynamic and energetic, the candidate is tasked with providing financial industry expertise, Product Expertise and solution demos to prospective customers from C-Level through to End-Users.Based in the UK, the candidate will work as part of and lead a growing global team. The role will involve working closely with prospects, clients and alongside Sales Executives, Account Managers, Product Management and other senior stakeholders in order to assist the overall Sales team in driving revenue by helping to qualify accounts; answering requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs); preparing and delivering solution-based product presentations and demonstrations; and executing on customer proof of concepts (PoCs), together with providing business and technical insight for SmartStream’s broad range of solutions influencing product growth and direction in the region.Job Responsibilities This role requires proficiency in communication, combined with a passionate and in-depth ‘product expert’ level of business knowledge. The Pre-Sales team at SmartStream is given every opportunity to extend their professional skills and to become deeply involved and engaged in all elements of the sales process. Key duties and accountabilities of the role will include;

  • Present the value of SmartStream’s solutions to a variety of audiences from C-level to workers and all levels in between.
  • Contribute to the sales team in driving revenue by qualifying leads.
  • Answer requests for information (RFIs) and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Prepare and deliver solution-based product presentations and demonstrations to prospects and customers.

Execute on Proof of Concepts (PoCs) ensuring that the customer achieves well defined Success Criteria, receives business answers swiftly and provides proactive support to sales and prospects.

  • Provide business and product expertise and solution blueprints.
  • Drive the pre-sales phase by introducing SmartStream solutions / services offering and provide product demonstrations – functionality, system architecture, etc. – by interfacing with prospective and current customers, distributors and partners (both at business and technical level) and recommend a solution that ensures the optimum usage and utilization of SmartStream solutions and services; this can include a full pre-sales lifecycle from RFI response/requirement analysis, to running a scoping exercise or engage in a prototype/proof of concept for agreed requirements.
  • Responsible for professional RFP/RFI responses:
  • Having a detailed knowledge of the functionality and technology of the solution range.
  • Ensuring that all materials such as presentations and demonstrations are maintained up to date.
  • Support SmartStream staff at industry events and customer seminars.

Key Skills • Strong experience of leading a Pre-Sales team, or similar working in a Financial Institution as part of
leading a Treasury Support team or Liquidity Risk team.

  • Experience in the selection and implementation of a financial software solution within a financial institution is a distinct advantage.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, another European language would be advantageous.
  • Excellent business knowledge and the ability and willingness to learn, as required new business skillsets.
  • Must be flexible and creative regarding time management and scheduling.
  • Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise and multi-task.
  • Willingness to travel – up to 20% travelling involved.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to present to an audience from C-Level to End User, clearly articulate the value SmartStream solutions will bring to an organisation, gain trusted advisor respect, and help influence.

Desirable SkillsQualifications • BSc (Honours) Degree in a business or technology disciplineExperience • Track record in exceeding quota targets and sales KPIs

  • 5+ years’ experience in selling to Financial Services Institutions (C-level engagements)
  • Experience in selling solutions to Financial Services sector – payments, treasury, finance, risk control, and regulatory compliance functions etc.
