The Global Renewable Energy Program Coordinator works on the Renewable Energy Transition team as part of the Global Tackle Climate Change Team. The Global Renewable Energy Program Coordinator supports the Program Manager, Director, and other team members and staff across The Nature Conservancy to improve the Renewable Energy Transition strategy’s coordination and management. The Global Renewable Energy Coordinator will proactively coordinate among regional teams and other business units, manage projects, and facilitate knowledge sharing. The Renewable Energy Program Coordinator assists the global Renewable Energy Transition strategy with coordination, implementation, and management. With their knowledge of the renewable energy, they support the operation of the strategy by coordinating meetings, managing projects and internal reporting processes, tracking and reporting project data, and improving knowledge management. They develop topical expertise in issues that support strategy development and management. Success in this role requires organization and attention to detail; strong writing skills; inter-personal and inter-cultural communication skills; working effectively both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed, and international environment; and being adaptable to shifting needs and priorities. We are looking for a candidate who will:

  • Liaise among teams, projects, and strategic initiatives across multiple geographies using their knowledge of renewable energy.
  • Use knowledge of renewable energy strategy to inform development of strategy materials and internal strategy reporting.
  • Provide coordination and project management support to renewable energy strategy projects, including proposal development.
  • Support the implementation of the strategy through coordination and management of multiple tasks or projects in a timely manner and with attention to detail.
  • Manage internal TNC efforts, reporting, and processes in support of the Renewable Energy Strategy.
  • Support renewable energy teams with developing and calculating renewable energy metrics and reporting project progress.
  • Use knowledge of renewable energy to gather, vet, and analyze necessary data to inform strategy.
  • Support organization of TNC’s cross-cutting body of renewable energy work and support knowledge sharing, learning, and coordination.
  • Support internal and external event planning, coordination, and management.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Policy, Resource Management, Business or related field and 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience working in or demonstrated knowledge of renewable energy or climate, especially in a NGO setting.
  • Experience coordinating or managing complex projects or strategic initiatives in a complex environment.
  • Experience developing end products with software such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, cloud and web-based tools including SharePoint, Zoom, Box, or similar tools.
  • Strong writing skills.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, with assignments sometimes coming from a number of sources and work independently.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy metrics, data, trends, and/or policy.
  • Strong team player who can build relationships and work collaboratively across the organization.
  • Flexible, independent worker who can thrive in a decentralized, fast-paced organization and meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Experience using project management tools such as Smartsheet or a task management system.

Salary Information:

This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $47,000 – $72,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate’s qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
