Summary:
As a member of the Global Sanctions Compliance Department (GSCD), this individual will support in the oversight and continuous enhancement of the Bank’s Global Sanctions Compliance Program. The GSCD Program is responsible for advising on regulatory/bank policy matters, driving implementation of global sanctions controls (including list management, technology, sanctions screening), managing global sanctions policy/procedure related matters, as well as overseeing risk management related activities (including sanctions-related risk assessments).

Responsibilities of the Global Sanctions Analyst will vary based on need/skillset, but may include:
Sanctions Advisory
Sanctions regulatory change management – Monitoring sanctions regulatory changes, including those administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and augmenting MUFG’s sanctions controls to comply.
Briefing the three lines of defense on material sanctions regulatory changes and their impact to MUFG.
Providing sanctions regulatory guidance on live payments and complex fact patterns across MUFG’s global footprint.
Sanctions customer due diligence.
OFAC reporting, including draft and filing of block and reject reports and voluntary self-disclosures.
Performing open source and vendor-powered research to build sanctions target networks and update internal sanctions lists as necessary.
Engage in industry discussions.
Sanctions Controls
Sanctions list management.
Providing sanctions compliance leadership and expertise to technology stakeholders on a wide variety of technology projects.
Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in GFCD to ensure effective and efficient operation of sanctions screening systems.
Overseeing updates to and implementation of the Global Sanctions Policy, Standard, and Procedures.
Supporting global sanctions risk assessment activities.
General
Overseeing and supporting MUFG’s sanctions related operations.
Acting as a liaison between global sanctions and audit, testing, monitoring, and quality assurance, providing advice as needed and reviewing findings/results.
Corresponding and collaborating with first line of defense and regional financial crimes compliance offices globally.
Building and conducting sanctions specific training.
Managing sanctions-related regulatory exams and audits.
Other sanctions-related tasks, as needed.
Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and deliver results
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and critical thinking skills
Interest in foreign policy and international relations
Organized and self-motivated
The typical base pay range for this role is between $68K – $78K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
