FO I.T. Client and Sales facing is an IT group providing applications to the Investment Bank Global Market Front Office for e-commerce of EQD, fixed income and Forex products. It comprises approximately 250 people across London, Paris, New York and Mumbai. Amongst other things, this group is responsible for the development of the award-winning Cortex application.

Global Markets I.T. Client and Sales Facing is an IT group providing applications to the Investment Bank Global Markets Front Office for e-commerce of both EQD and fixed income products. It comprises approximately 250 people across London, Paris, New York, Lisbon and Mumbai. Amongst other things, this group is responsible for the development of the award-winning Cortex and Smart Derivatives applications.

Within this department, GM IT Research & Content is responsible for the development of applications to support creation, distribution and ongoing management of research content.

The last major project was the delivery of a mobile application for both Android and IOS. To reflect the change in technology that Mobile application introduce, we will need to rethink our current technology solutions and we are now looking for a candidate who will help building the next generation of Research application as a multi-channel distribution platform.

Purpose:

• Highly qualified Development manager playing a pivotal role in leading website and mobile application development teams in an Agile framework, ensuring the alignment of technical initiatives with business goals, compliance standards and security requirements, contributing to the success of BNPP’s digital initiatives
• This role involves implementing Agile methodologies, fostering a collaborative environment, and ensuring timely and high-quality deliveries aligned with business objectives

Scope:

• Local for management, global for team lead.

Additional details:

• Developer team Management including remote team
• Liaise with Analysts and On-Shore / Off-Shore Development teams to ensure accurate coverage and validate test scenarios
• Prioritize work, manage the backlog of features and other fixes required in parallel.

Key Responsibilities

• Team leadership; lead, mentor and manage global development teams, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including compliance officers, product managers, and various other IT operational teams/relevant departments, to align technical development efforts with business strategies
• Project Management; managing entire development lifecycle, from planning and scoping, to execution and delivery within Agile frameworks, ensuring adherence to timelines
• Integration & Vendor Management; overseeing relationships with external suppliers, from product selection to implementation ensuring the product or services meet BNPP needs effectively
• Regularly engage with product owners to understand project vision, business requirements, strategic goals and translate them into actionable development plans
• Acts as a liaison between development teams and product owners, ensuring effective communication of technical requirements, progress updates, and any impediments that may impact project delivery
• Lead engagement with Front Office sales and traders users to i) develop understanding and receive feedback about the usage of the electronic markets applications maintained by the team and ii) communicate the complexities downstream iii) plan out a technical product vision to help them execute and reach it
• Drive initiatives for process improvements, technological advancements, and best practices adoption
• Provide technical guidance, resolve technical challenges, and ensure the technology stack aligns with project requirements
• Oversee testing strategies and development processes to maintain high-quality standards and timely delivery of products in line with business expectations while encouraging automation test executions

Qualifications

The Requirements

Essential

· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or demonstrable relevant experience.

· Proven experience in leading website and mobile application development teams in an Agile environment, preferably within financial sector

· Proficiency in Java Full Stack development along with UI development using React and/or Angular JS

· Strong understanding and implementation of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

· Knowledge of database systems and understanding how to integrate databases into applications

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, to effectively engage with stakeholders and development teams, and experience in leading cross-functional workshops

· Experience in managing distributed teams, including onshore and offshore units

· Proficiency in using version control systems like Git, Bitbucket, TeamCity for collaborative development and code management.

· Understanding of server-side technologies to build APIs that mobile apps can interact with

· Understanding of mobile specific concepts such as responsive design, touch events, device capabilities and performance optimisation for mobile device

Preferred

· Understanding of mobile development, including CI/CD processes for Mobile.

· Awareness of security protocols and best practices for developing secure web and mobile applications

· Comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance standards and security protocols relevant to the financial industry

· Proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks such as HTML/CSS, and other JavaScript frameworks/libraries used in building complex and interactive web applications

· Demonstrable understanding of having supported requirements definition in agile / DevOps environments

· Knowledge of relevant industry and market trends, especially the emergence of Fintech, and their potential impact / opportunities for established players
