The pandemic shone a light on the critical role pharmacists play within healthcare. We continue to respond to a generational increase in demand and deliver on the important role we have in leading accreditation and assessment of education of the pharmacy sector nationally and internationally. This increasing complexity has created demand for additional executive support.
Opportunity – Governance and Executive Support Officer
As part of a small team and reporting to the Executive Officer, provide high level operational, executive, company secretariat and governance support to the Executive Office and the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Your role will include:
- Company Secretariat and Committee Governance and Support
- Executive and Operational Support to the COO
- APC Governance Support and Coordination
- General Office Support
This pivotal role will include secretariat functions to ensure our governance activities continue to remain sound and fit for purpose, including coordination of policies, risk management and statutory company registers. You will report to the Executive Officer but also offer executive support services to the Chief Operating Officer – which will place you in a highly trusted position.
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate skills and experience in:
- Supporting governance of boards and committees, including professional minute taking skills
- Executive support experience, including capacity to work with discretion in a trusted environment
- High level of competency in Microsoft office suite eg Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
You will likely be an accomplished professional seeking new challenges, but you will bring experience and maturity to the role.

The Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) is an independent not-for-profit company, responsible for accreditation of pharmacy education and training, under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS).
With 40 years of history and experience, we set and maintain the standards of pharmacy education to ensure that pharmacists who practise in Australia deliver safe and effective health care. This includes assessing overseas trained pharmacists, accrediting university programs and delivering exams to people wanting to become registered pharmacists in Australia.
