An exciting opportunity to head up the Governance for a leading international NGO working in Head Office in Oslo, Norway.
What we are looking for
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is seeking a highly qualified, resilient and dynamic Governance Specialist Adviser to be responsible for engaging with private individuals and organizations to build awareness about NRC and raise funds for the organisations work for people forced to flee.. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice and support to the Donor Management, Governance and Finance Director and Department Executive Director in matters related to governance, compliance, finance and HR.
What you will do
Develop and maintain governance framework related to NRC Private Sector Fundraising and Public Engagement (e.g. policies, manuals, architecture framework and guidelines)
Overall responsibility for planning and executing governance and internal control meetings and reporting to External Relations management team
Monitoring implementation of relevant principles within and across the sections and units of External Relations
Develop and maintain a global risk picture for External Relations
Advising sections and units to ensure that governance is sufficiently managed across the department
Share knowledge and best practices, willing to learn and understand governance in a broad definition, establishing a cross departmental governance culture

What you will bring
Relevant higher education within governance or/and law
Documented experience from working with governance and compliance
A strong communicator with excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate
Able to balance policy and compliance-based governance with collaborative problem solving
Have a strategic mindset and ability to transform that into concrete actions
Quickly acquire and utilize knowledge on new technologies and solutions and emerging threats and vulnerabilities
What we offer
Duty station: Oslo, Norway (Hybrid work model)
Contract: Permanent
Travel: 10%
Salary/benefits: grade 9 on NRC’s Head Office salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions.
