About the role

This part time (one day per week) maximum term (12 month contract) senior position will:

  • Support and strengthen the primary health core service streams in headspace services and programs.
  • Inform headspace on all matters regarding General Practice related to strategic planning for service systems, primary care and GP services.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of creative and responsive solutions.
  • Provide advice and support to the General Practice Workforce.
  • Develop and or review resources for GPs.
  • Identify and engage subject matter experts.
  • Provide advice to headspace on health-related areas.
  • Contribute to the planning, development and review of resources developed by the Clinical Practice Division to ensure a ‘GP lens’ is included wherever relevant.
  • Model and demonstrate constructive working relationships and information exchange within the team and across the organisation.
  • Represent headspace at forums and attend relevant meetings and key events as required.

Who we’re looking for

headspace is seeking someone with:

  • Eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia.
  • Medically registrable tertiary qualifications in general practice or the equivalent, as evidenced by Fellowship of the RACGP/ACRRM or registration on the Vocational Register for Medicare purposes.
  • An advanced qualification and/or accredited training in mental health, such as the mental health skills training recognised through the General Practice Mental Health Standards Collaboration, and/or significant demonstrated experience in youth and/or mental health.
  • Complex stakeholder relationship management skills.
  • Senior technical and professional expertise.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training.
  • Ability in service development and evaluation.
  • Ability to implement evidence-based practices and contribute to change management.
