Service Summary

The Grade 12 Instructor is responsible for facilitating classes to prepare students entering Grade 12 for their final government exams in one of the following subjects: English, Kurdish, or Math. Classes will take place at the Yazidi Empowerment Project (YEP) community center during the summer cycle.

Expected Services:

  • Responsible for providing his/her curriculum and facilitator resources for the specified subject. Curriculum must be a standard, government-approved resource for Grade 12 exam preparation.

  • Prepare all lesson plans and materials according to the curriculum prior to the start of class.

  • Facilitate interactive class sessions and create opportunities to assess student comprehension.  

  • Keep a record of attendance for each class session.

  • Ensure a clean and organized classroom before and after the class session.

  • Attend meetings and collaborate with the other Grade 12 instructors to coordinate schedules and activities. 

  • Work according to the set class schedule. Instructor is responsible for his/her own transportation to the Center.

  • The instructor will work a maximum of 22 workdays, or hourly equivalent. Compensation will be calculated based on actual hours worked and a fixed hourly rate.

Skills Required

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be a Grade 12 teacher or have 3+ experience teaching Grade 12 within one of the desired subjects: English, Kurdish, or Math.  

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 3+ years’ experience teaching Grade 12 in either English, Kurdish, or Math.

  • Must be a graduate from the relevant college department.

LANGUAGE

  • Fluent spoken and written Kurdish required.

  • Arabic and/or English proficiency is a plus.
