Babbity Environmental Ltd.

tendersglobal.net

Babbity Environmental is a friendly team of environmental consultants. We work with a range of
clients, including large commercial companies and the public sector, as well as smaller land
developers, renewable energy companies and house builders, to help them understand the
complexities of environmental planning, in order to deliver a wide variety of environmental
projects in Scotland and the UK. Our successful, pioneering work has attracted clients and
enabled us to grow and combine forces with other businesses who share our ethos and integrity.
At our core, our people are actively working towards the protection of the local, national and
global environment.

Why join us?

We are expanding our ecology team to support our clients with all stages of EIA work and, in
particular, the creation of Environmental Statements, Environmental Impact Assessment Reports
and other environmental consenting documents. You will work within our growing environmental
planning team, supporting the delivery of diverse and challenging projects across Scotland and
the UK. Ideally, with a background in ecology, you will be familiar with ecological surveys and
assessments, with a sound understanding of national policies.

In return we offer a unique and exciting opportunity to help to develop the evolution of a
small but ambitious team, within a people first consulting business. You will help us to shape
the kind of projects we accept, how the team operates, the work we carry out and what and who
we use in our supply chain. With the support of an experienced and passionate Technical
Director and a wider team of consultants, you will form an integral part of the business going
forward.

About the role

We are looking for you to:

  • Conduct ecological surveys, assessments and record habitats accurately.
  • Assist in analysing ecological data collected from field surveys.
  • Help to deliver concise findings to our clients.
  • Assist in environmental impact assessments, habitat management plans, biodiversity and
    bioremediation conservation strategies.
  • Work closely with the Babbity team and other professionals, actively contributing to
    various projects.

At Babbity, continuous professional development is integral to the development of our staff. We
encourage and offer financial support to all staff in order to further their skills through
supported study, training and accreditation.

About you

As a key member of the team, the following skills and experience are considered essential to
the role:

  • A relevant degree and/or postgraduate qualification, with a strong academic ability and
    record.
  • A sound background in, or enthusiasm for, natural history and familiarity with UK flora and
    fauna.
  • Some experience with UK botanical and/or faunal identification and survey work.
  • A broad understanding of UK wildlife legislation.
  • A basic understanding of the Scottish and UK policy and regulatory framework for EIA.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with effective teamwork and
    excellent communication skills.

A self-starter, who can work under minimal supervision and comfortable working from your home
environment, within a virtual company, you will be excited by the opportunities presented by
working in a small but rapidly growing consultancy.
