Child Rights Connect is recruiting a full-time Grant and Development Manager (36 hours per week) under a permanent contract.

Objective

Reporting to the Executive Director, and acting as a member of the Management Team, the overall objective of the Grant and Development Manager is to manage and continuously improve the performance of the organisation to fulfil its vision and mission and reach its strategic objectives, in particular through robust grant management and development, and monitoring, evaluation and learning mechanisms.

Main responsibilities

  1. Act as a member of the Child Rights Connect Management Team.
  2. Manage grants, in full compliance with internal and donor requirements, including through results-oriented reports.
  3. Maintain and enhance a results-based management approach across the organisation through planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning mechanisms.
  4. Implement and further develop the organisational fundraising strategy.
  5. Support the Executive Director with development, review and implementation of organisational policies, procedures and related internal controls.

Main tasks

1. Grant management

  • Maintain a record of all active grants and their main requirements.
  • Ensure effective grant management, including through support to the Programme Team, high quality and timely reporting to donors, and management of project partnerships.
  • Assist the Executive Director with ensuring compliance with budgetary and administrative grant requirements.

2. Monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL)

  • Support the Executive Director in annual planning, monitoring, and reporting on the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
  • Lead the further enhancement and implementation of the organisational monitoring and evaluation plan, and associated processes and mechanisms, to measure the effectiveness of the organisation in reaching its strategic objectives, including through the development and use of tools.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff in monitoring and evaluating the programmes and functioning of the Network through data collection, analysis and reporting.
  • Document, or support the documentation, of lessons from implementation, and support the Executive Director and staff to use this information to adjust strategic or programmatic approaches as necessary.
  • Use information drawn from MEL activities to develop results-oriented reports.

3. Fundraising and donor relations

  • Lead in implementing and reviewing the overall funding strategy, including through identifying funding prospects, and monitoring and analysing relevant opportunities.
  • Support the Executive Director with conceptualising approaches and developing proposals for funding.
  • Contribute to ensuring effective donor liaison and cultivating strong donor relations.

4. Organisational policies, procedures and controls

  • Lead risk assessments and regular updates of the organisation’s Risk Matrix.
  • Assist the Executive Director with the development, implementation and regular review of organisational policies and procedures.
  • Advise the Executive Director of identified gaps in institutional and operational framework (policies, procedures and controls), and suggest responses to these gaps, to ensure organisational effectiveness and efficiency, reliable reporting, and compliance with policies and other relevant requirements.

5. Management support

  • Participate in, and document, Management Team meetings.
  • Support with discharging relevant management duties, at the request of the Executive Director.

A competitive salary is offered, set according to qualifications, experience and location of the successful candidate. This is accompanied by staff benefits, including flexi-working (home/office and hours).

This position is for a permanent contract, at a 100% work rate (36 hours per week), starting as soon as possible after 1 July 2024. The position may be remotely based, or based in Geneva, Switzerland.
