JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs work servicing complex administration related to the 2026-2029 National Park Service (NPS) Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund (ESHPF) grant administration for the Division.  Oversees one ESHPF grant.  Responsible for management of related federal funds, and management of one Survey Administrator position. Coordinates ESHPF National Register of Historic Places (NR) projects, including scoping, contract drafting and management, and schedule administration.  Responsible for execution of all projects, including procurement, project activities, project management, technical assistance for program compliance, reporting, budget coordination, correspondence with NPS, and other duties as assigned related to the grant. Manages relationships with external consultants and project partners. Serves as a primary point of contact for technical assistance and provides project management support.       

Must maintain an awareness of the status of potential and existing projects, handle complex recurring work and one-time problems, provide advice and assistance to other Division personnel whose assignments might include duties related to technical oversight and/or compliance of on-going projects. 

DURATION:

This position is funded through an Emergency Supplemental Historic Preservation Fund grant, as such it is subject to the funding provided under disaster relief efforts, specifically from NPS.  The position will be a three-year term position running from 2026 to 2029.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college university

AND

Two years of related professional experience

-OR-

Associates degree

AND

Four years of related professional experience

-OR-

Six years of related professional experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A basic knowledge and the ability to develop advanced knowledge of the following:

  • Federal grant regulations, including 2 CFR 200 or similar
  • Environmental Review/Assessment
  • Historic Preservation
  • Public Benefit Standard
  • Consultant monitoring and/or audit

The following skills and abilities:

  • Project management and risk assessment
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a diverse team
  • Strong organizational skills to organize project management documentation effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to coordinate and liaise between technical subject area experts and operational staff
  • Must be able to coordinate with budgeting, procurement, historic preservation, and federal grant management programs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members to ensure success of projects
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Management experience
