Grant Officer (80 – 100%)

The role of the Grant Officer is to both facilitate proposal development and ensure effective grant management of Swiss TPH research projects, with a focus on collaborative EU projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the team to manage and expand the institution’s diverse project portfolio. In that role, the Grant Officer will contribute to strengthening and continuously enhancing Swiss TPH’s overall competitiveness and grant management capacity.

YOUR VARIOUS RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

• Provide expert guidance to project leaders in support of proposal development
• Actively monitor, follow up, and support Swiss TPH internal application intents
• Ensure quality assurance and budget advise and manage timely, and high quality, submission of proposals to national and international (including EU and US) funders
• Contribute to key activities of project management, budgeting, reporting, and dissemination in the planning and realization phases of collaborative projects
• Conduct project-related communication and reporting with internal and external consortium partners, including funding organisations, to ensure smooth project progression
• Contribute to PGU administrative and organisational tasks, including quality assurance of project management, communication, documentation, continuous improvement, and database maintenance

YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS:

• Minimal requirement: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) of University or University of Applied Sciences, ideally in epidemiology or health related sciences
• Strong project management experience in academia or industry, ideally in health related sciences, and/or desire to gain increased expertise in research project management
• Prior experience in either or several of the following is an asset: budgeting and/or accounting practices, due diligence procedures, exposure to EU and/or US research funding mechanisms, proposal development, collaborative grant management
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with various stakeholders, verbally and in writing, in the intercultural context of academia, service and industry
• Fluency in English, good command in German and/or French is an asset
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and responsible personality with a pragmatic solution-focused approach, even under time pressure
