World Vision Australia is seeking a dynamic individual to join us as a Grant Acquisition Advisor on a permanent basis. In this newly created role, you will contribute to the achievement of the private and institutional grants acquisition for the Australia First Nations Program (AFNP) within World Vision Australia (WVA).

Your role plays an integral part in the organisation, enabling us to support our mission of empowering Australians to create meaningful change for the world’s most vulnerable children and adults within our Australian context.

Other Key accountabilities include:

  • You will be responsible for researching opportunities, supporting collaboration and coordination between World Vision Australia (WVA) and Australia First Nations Program (AFNP)
  • Researching, writing and coordination of Government grants proposals and engaging relevant stakeholders as part of this process. This may include work for our First Nations partner organisations to help them secure funding to operationalise project models.
  • Undertaking government donor research and analysis and develop donor profiles, to better understand donor requirements, strategies, and needs.
  • Conducting industry and policy research and analysis as required
  • Support Program Managers and Lead team members in exploring partnering opportunities, e.g. research, facilitate discussions, coordinate meetings.
  • In coordination with responsible contract managers, support all grant management activities including reviewing reports, and supporting audits.

Who we’re looking for

The ideal candidate will have a breadth of capabilities, including great interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders and partners supporting collaboration and outcomes.

  • You apply a positive lens and growth mindset to your work; seeing challenges as opportunities
  • Technical expertise in grant writing
  • Solid understanding of the First Nations funding context
  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, community development or related discipline.
  • Self-managed work experience, with ability to maintain focus and achieve outcomes under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment
  • Supporting and coordinating the management of multiple projects to specified timelines
  • Experience or a keen interest working with First Nations communities
