The Grants and Contracts Management Analyst will lead and advise the management of pre-award grant support activities for principal investigators (PIs) at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy; including proposal assembly, submission, award set up, and award compliance. The analyst will also work closely with division chairs, the associate dean for research, and PIs to advise on grant submission procedures, lead grant submission activities, and troubleshoot and resolve grant-related processes problems. This individual will also locate and report out current funding opportunities for investigators; advise PIs in the creation and submission of proposals, lead development of grant budgets and coordinating with other internal staff, formatting, editing, and reviewing documents, and adhering to internal and sponsor time limits. The analyst will also lead and report on compliance with administrative policies and procedures, including sponsor guidelines, effort amounts, and allowable expenditures; advise PIs with updating and maintaining relevant proposal materials, including biosketches, resource pages, and other support documents; lead effort in the completion and submission of annual progress reports; all sponsored research deliverables, other required reporting activities. Analyst will lead efforts setting up project sub awards, requesting no-cost extensions, managing residuals, and other required post-award support; and performing additional duties as needed.
Essential Functions:

Prepare and review budgetary and supporting documents with investigators for grant/contract applications and renewals.

Provide expertise and guidance to principal investigators and department administrators on policy guidelines for requests for applications, subcontracts, and related budgetary, personnel and expenditure-related activities.

Review terms and conditions for each Notice of Award received and maintain compliance by working with investigators.

Represent the College of Pharmacy in grant-related discussions with the OSU Office of Sponsored Programs, other OSU and collaborating research units, or funding agencies.

Maintain knowledge of current Research Administration practices and policies.
Required Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications: 6 years of relevant work experience is required. Demonstrated previous experience with development of and/or submission of grant applications.
Desired Qualifications : Advanced word processing skills; intermediate spreadsheet skills including ability to create budgetary documents; ability to identify inconsistencies between application requirements and submitted documents; strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to meet deadlines; and solid communication skills to clearly explain concepts and solutions to stakeholders.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this job profile is $73,100 – $97,500. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
The College of Pharmacy believes in a healthy work/life balance, therefore, the work arrangement for this position is hybrid (i.e., remote and in-office), subject to change based upon the needs of the organization and as determined by College Leadership. A fully remote work arrangement may be considered dependent on candidate location.
