Job Highlight:

 

Reporting to Global Energy Senior Operations Manager, you will provide finance, operations, and administrative support to WRI’s Global Energy Program. You will maintain the team’s budgets to guide project implementation, monitor spending in compliance with funder terms and WRI policies, and coordinate with vendors and partners to develop and implement subawards. You will also provide logistical support and administrative coordination. You will be responsible for integrating equity into your work.

 

What will you do:

 

Financial and Grant Management (45%):

 

  • Develop fiscal year and funder budget forecasts on a yearly basis in coordination with the Global Operations Team
  • Regularly review, update, and monitor all transactions, commitments, and revenue prospects to support healthy financial management and help prepare for quarterly projections and reviews
  • Follow WRI’s internal processes and deadlines related to financial management, including managing financial quarterly reviews, monthly & annual closeouts of grants and awards, and annual budget planning
  • Update and maintain project budgets utilizing WRI’s budgeting and forecasting software (TM1)
  • Serve as team liaison with central WRI departments (Accounting, HR, G&C, Facilities, etc.) to provide guidance and support to team members on various operational issues and to ensure compliance
  • Maintain team administrative materials, including organizational charts and training materials
  • Provide administrative support for internal team meetings, including preparing slide decks and note taking
  • Support miscellaneous project operations needs, including personnel processes, timesheet and payroll processes, and IT requests

 

WRI Country Team Support (30%): –

 

  • Provide ad-hoc financial and grant management support to WRI’s Country teams, including Europe, US, India, Africa, Indonesia, China and Mexico when they face capacity gaps or growth
  • Serve as a liaison between global and country teams including bridging communication with central WRI departments

 

Subaward Management (25%): –

 

  • Assemble and process subgrants and contracts in accordance with WRI’s contracting and granting policies
  • Monitor subaward reporting schedules, coordinating submission by partners and review with programmatic team
  • Communicate directly with partners for submission of required subaward materials
  • Process vendor and grantee payables

 

What will you need:

 

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, public policy, political science, non-profit management, international affairs. Relevant work experience in lieu of degree is accepted
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with grants management, Salesforce or a similar CRM system, Asana, non-profit operations, non-profit development, budgeting software, and/or Microsoft Excel is a plus.
  • Interest in sustainable solutions for people, climate and nature
  • Commitment to equitable processes and outcomes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work well in a team and with international colleagues
  • Languages: Written and verbal proficiency in English
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position is based. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization

 

Potential Salary: Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
