Based in Surry Hills, our programs are open to children, youth and their families living within the City of Sydney LGA. The families who access our services experience a wide range of financial, social, educational and housing challenges. Our Fundraising Program

The Fundraising team generates revenue to support the programs delivered at The Girls & Boys Brigade. Funds are raised via donations and appeals, events, corporate partnerships and grants. The team consists of a Fundraising Manager, Fundraising Communications Coordinator and this newly created role of Grants Coordinator.

The Role

We are currently seeking a Grants Coordinator for The Girls & Boys Brigade. The Grants Coordinator will build on the successes of the grants program currently in place. Key responsibilities include researching funding opportunities, submitting grant applications, completing all required reporting and building relationships with funders.

Essential Criteria

  • Research Skills: Ability to research and identify funding opportunities and matching them for suitability to the programs at The Girls & Boys Brigade
  • Proposal writing: Excellent writing skills to create clear and compelling applications, communicating the organisation’s mission, programs and outcomes
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to build and foster good relationships both internally and externally
  • Initiative and maturity to work independently
  • Positive, pro-active and enthusiastic nature
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one
  • Current NSW Working with Children Check.

Desirable Criteria

  • Grant management experience: 2+ years experience in managing the grants lifecycle from researching funding opportunities, to writing proposals, managing applications and all reporting requirements
  • Experience working within the non-profit sector

Hours:

  • The role is full-time (40 hours per week). For the right candidate, reduced hours can be negotiated.
