Chemonics is seeking prospective Grants Director candidates for the anticipated 5-year, USAID/Ukraine Flagship Mental Health Activity. This is not an open position, once a proposal is awarded and a position becomes available, all applicants must apply to be considered for the role. The position will be based in Kyiv, Ukraine or will require travel to Kyiv. This activity is valued at $50-$99.99 million and aims to support the Government of Ukraine in accelerating development of a modern, evidence-informed, integrated mental health system at all levels. This system will foster enhanced accountability, efficiency, and transparency to effectively address the evolving mental health challenges faced by Ukrainians amidst Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, and during its recovery. This activity is currently on the USAID business forecast with an anticipated solicitation release date of July 15, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, grantees, and/or vendors.
- Ensure subcontractors and/or grantees are provided with sufficient technical assistance in financial management and reporting.
- Ensures compliance with USAID rules and regulations governing grants and ensures subcontracts and negotiation memos are drafted in accordance with Chemonics’ policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Reviews subcontract deliverables and confirms deliverables are in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
- Work with activity leadership to ensure inputs are being delivered according to established work plans and that lessons learned are successfully incorporated from program implementation into new activity developments.
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree, preferable in business administration, finance, or related field.
- Minimum seven years of grants management experience.
- Experience with implementing grants under task order programs on USAID projects preferred.
- Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with donors, subcontractors, grantees, and multiple host-country counterparts.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Ukrainian.
