Position description

The U.S. African Development Foundation is an independent U.S. government agency established by Congress to invest directly in African grassroots enterprises and social entrepreneurs. USADF’s investments increase incomes, revenues, and jobs by promoting self-reliance and market-based solutions to poverty. USADF creates pathways to prosperity for marginalized populations and communities across Africa. USADF does development differently by utilizing a community-led development approach and a pan-African network of local implementing partners to support African-designed and African-delivered solutions. USADF provides grant capital, capacity building assistance, and convening opportunities to develop, grow and scale African enterprises and entrepreneurs who improve lives and livelihoods.

 

Duties

 

Performs the grants management system processes of grant initiation to grant approval and the procurement system processes of grant financial approval. Assists in collecting data and maintain spreadsheets to demonstrate the extent to which projects re contributing to the achievement of the country’s development. Drafts and submits project descriptions and Congressional Notifications. Recommends changes in the pre-application stage and application stage to partner to ensure quality, impactful projects. Conducts program evaluation, including monitoring and assessing awardee performance using established standards and criteria to measure program effectiveness, and drafting performance measures. Serves as liaison with external customers, recipients, and awardee community to clarify, interpret, and resolve a variety of different issues. Identifies innovative and high impact grants in assigned portfolios and prepare write-ups highlighting grantee success stories.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: experience independently performing duties and responsibilities that involve analytical work related to grants and cooperative agreements that support the program and customers.

B. Master’s or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LLB. or J.D., if related. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.

This position contains a selective placement factor (SPF) that is part of the minimum requirement of the position. If you do not meet the SPF, you are ineligible for further consideration. Salary

$68,405 – $88,926 per year
