Mission and objectives
Ensuring equal opportunities for children is one of the most important tasks for UNICEF both in Kazakhstan and around the world. This means protecting the rights of children for the survival, development and full implementation of their potential in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which Kazakhstan acceded to in 1994.
- For more than two decades, UNICEF has been working closely with the Government, local governments and civil society to strengthen children’s rights and ensure equal access to quality social services, primarily health and education.
- The social agenda of Kazakhstan is aimed at protecting the rights of children. Close attention is paid to children from the most vulnerable groups, including children with mental and physical disabilities.
- Evaluation section of the Regional Office of UNICEF needs support with the design of the Technical Note and development of the respective presentation
Context
- The UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECARO) is responsible for providing guidance and technical assistance to 22 countries in the region towards a more strategic and impactful programming for children. ECARO is currently recruiting a UN volunteer that could assist ECARO in strengthening its evaluation function further and provide design and network communication support.
- The fundamental mission of UNICEF is to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does — in programs, in advocacy and in operations. The equity strategy, emphasizing the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families, translates this commitment to children’s rights into action. Evaluation is a core pillar supporting UNICEF’s mission to help realize the rights of every child, especially the most disadvantaged.

Task description
We are looking for 1 Online Volunteer who under the guidance of Evaluation Specialist support us by producing of graphic designs for Technical Note on Hard to reach population and development of PPT to it. In particular, the Online Volunteer is asked to:
- Develop a Design for the paper on Hard-to-reach population in Evaluations
- Create draft design for the presentation, based on the Technical Note
The design/layout should follow our corporate design guidelines which will be shared with the Online Volunteers.
UNICEF Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia and learn about the ways in which graphic design can support Evaluation Advocacy.
Requirements
Required experience
- Candidates should have professional experience in graphic design with previous experience in designing document layouts, and must have in-depth knowledge of graphic design applications, as well as good verbal and written communication skills.
- A degree in graphic design or related field is considered an asset.
Languages
- English, Level: Fluent, Required
- Russian, Level: Fluent, Desirable
