Graphic Designer

Communication unit of icddr,b plays a pivotal role in disseminating the organisation’s diverse research findings, initiatives, and impact to local and global stakeholders. Through strategic media relations, public relations endeavours, and dynamic content creation, they amplify icddr,b’s visibility and credibility, fostering understanding and support for its comprehensive mission.

Position Description:

The Graphic Designer will report to the Senior Manager – Communications and will be responsible for designing and developing communication materials in collaboration with the internal clients and print agencies with the objective of providing internal customers with appropriate communication materials within icddr,b guidelines and policies; and organisational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework – IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines). S/he will be responsible for:

• Coordinate with internal customers to identify content requirements; brainstorm with Senior Manager – Communications on various ideas;
• Prepare the first draft of deliverables in adherence to branding requirements;
• Share draft with Senior Manager – Communications and internal customers for proofreading and feedback;
• Make changes and finalise the content in order to prepare high-quality content for printing;
• Coordinate with printing agencies to place the order for prints with required specifications (paper, quality of prints etc.);
• Share the final draft of the content developed and seek sample prints from the printer;
• Review and verify sample prints; Seek feedback from Senior Manager – Communications and internal customers on sample prints;
• Coordinate with printing agency for changes to the sample and seek final prints; Share the final prints with respective stakeholders in order to get the content printed as per internal customer requirements.

Required qualification and experience:

• Bachelor in Fine Arts or any relevant subject with a Diploma in Graphic Design;
• 2 – 3 years of experience in graphic design.
