The Division of Human Resources has ongoing digital media/graphic design requirements to effectively promote and disseminate its outreach efforts to UNICEF globally. The expertise is solicited from an external consultant to provide best practice guidance and technical aptitude in this area. The consultant will ensure consistency in visual/graphic design in DHR (Career development, HR Capacity Building, Leadership Development and Learning and Management development and other Centres of Expertise) resources through the design of guidelines, publications or promotional materials. 

How can you make a difference? 

The incumbent will undertake the following tasks and deliverables

  • Conceptualize, design and produce communication materials including but not limited to the design of brochures, posters, infographics, training materials, presentations, templates, manuals, guides or job aids.
  • Produce standard PPT designs for the Talent Development Team.
  • Design graphics for the integration of the humanitarian competencies into the overall competency framework reflecting dual humanitarian and development competencies.
  • Design marketing materials (logo, flyers, etc.) for the Learning Forum including color scheme and layout for the SharePoint page.
  • Produce a PPT design template for the Learning Forum webinars (aligned with the above design).
  • Design email headers for communication about the learning Forum webinars and forum.
  • Design roadmap indicating milestones for and after the Learning Forum.
  • Design infographics for the HR Capability Framework and HR Learning Paths.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • University Bachelors’ degree in web design, graphic design, digital media design, and communication for learning or related field is required.
  • Extensive experience in web design with relevant work experience may be considered in lieu. A minimum of five years of graphic design (preferably in a similar environment)
  • The individual should be highly proficient in a range of PC/web applications, including but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and InDesign.  
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset. 
  • Rich professional portfolio including photo editing, creation of illustrations, infographics, posters, visual aids etc.
  • Able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines with an eye for detail and creative expression.
  • It is preferable that the individual has experience with, or in, multilateral institutions.  Knowledge of UNICEF context essential.  Knowledge of UN common practices in Graphic Designing and HR an added advantage.
  • Proficient with Adobe Graphic Software (CS6): Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
  • Strong layout design, interaction design skills. A keen interest in modern design software and emerging design trends.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to establish harmonious working relations in a multicultural environment.
  • Independent, self-motivated showing initiative within field of expertise/responsibilities
