Green Spaces Officer
Environmental Services
37 Hours
£34,834 to £36,648
An opportunity has arisen for someone committed to the management and development of green
spaces to join the Parks and Open Spaces section, within the Environmental Services Department.
Hyndburn Borough Council really prides itself in providing quality green spaces to its
residents and as a result has 10 green flag award standard sites (the most for a Council in
Lancashire).
The post holder will be responsible for the green flag process for Hyndburn, the preparation of
park management plans and taking forward the Active Environment Strategy for parks and open
spaces. They will also be responsible for working in partnership with local community groups
and submitting grant funding applications to help take forward parks development projects. This
is a varied role, but as Hyndburn is a small authority, easily manageable for the right person.
You will be educated to degree level or hold an equivalent qualification and have at least 3
years experience working in a green space management or horticulture environment. A driving
licence is essential for this post.
For an informal chat about the position then please contact Craig Haraben, Head of
Environmental Services tel: 01254 356200.
