ABOUT THE SUSTAINABLE RESTAURANT ASSOCIATION (THE SRA)

The Sustainable Restaurant Association assesses behaviour, measures action and celebrates
progress. We connect businesses around the world to accelerate change towards a hospitality
sector that is socially progressive and environmentally restorative. We do this through the
world’s largest sustainability certification tailored for the sector: Food Made Good.

We set the Standard for sustainable food service around the world.

We are a small, passionate team that punches above our weight. We work with around 400 food
service businesses that expands out to about 11,000+ commercial kitchens across the globe. We
are actively prioritising creating a diverse and inclusive team that reflects the variety of
experience across the hospitality sector.

We are looking for a dynamic, proactive Growth Manager to help to grow our network
of hospitality businesses all around the world using the Food Made Good standard and help the
sector move further and faster toward a progressive future.

ABOUT THE JOB

The Growth Manager is a crucial role as part of a global team responsible for expanding the
reach and impact of the Food Made Good Standard through building new relationships with
hospitality businesses. You will be responsible managing all steps of the sales cycle for
bringing on new businesses, from building and maintaining a robust pipeline of your own
opportunities through to conversion. Our team is collaborative and creative in our approach,
and you will have the opportunity to develop tactics and strategies for generating leads and
closing new business.

If you are proactive and tenacious in your approach, with experience in a sales environment
(ideally working with hospitality), and the drive to autonomously build and progress
relationships that can drive us towards a more sustainable food system, this is the perfect
opportunity for you.

The Sustainable Restaurant Association’s Growth Team build relationships and partnerships with
hospitality businesses all around the world. We work closely across the organisation,
particularly with the FMG Standards team and Projects & Consultancy team to ensure
efficient onboarding of new partners. You will have the chance to take ownership over your own
opportunities, taking them through the whole process through to conversion, whilst being
supported and developed by a team from a diverse range of sustainability, hospitality and sales
backgrounds. This is an exciting role with the opportunity to build your sales experience
within the hospitality sector alongside your knowledge in sustainability, work with businesses
globally, and shape the future of The SRA.

Core responsibilities include

Relationship-building and revenue generation: 

  • Utilize your exceptional relationship-building skills to build a pipeline, establish and
    nurture partnerships with hospitality businesses, increasing uptake of The Food Made Good
    Standard and driving income generation for the organization.
  • Employ your experience in all aspects of sales, from research and strategy development to
    costing and pitching.
  • Develop compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to different stakeholders,
    effectively communicating the benefits of The FMG Standard to hospitality professionals.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate effectively with global stakeholders at various levels, including restaurant
    owners, chefs, and industry influencers. Ability to communicate in a persuasive and engaging
    manner on the benefits of Food Made Good.
  • Work closely with The SRA comms team to engage with stakeholders to promote the benefits of
    sustainable practices and build awareness and adoption within the restaurant industry.
  • Efficient handover of closed opportunities to internal teams in The SRA.
  • Where appropriate, representing The SRA at external events helping to build our profile and
    generate leads.

Accurate and diligent in maintaining data:

  • As well as confidently pursuing new business, the person holding this role will also need
    to keep up-to-date records through our CRM system, in order to ensure visibility of new
    business pipeline throughout the organisation.

KPIs/measures

  • Income generation target of £5k/month
  • Building and progressing a pipeline of opportunities, based on size and progression of open
    opportunities
  • Proactivity based on outreach and regular new conversations

Experience and skills required

  • Minimum 2 years relevant work experience, with proven track record in an income-generating
    role
  • Knowledge and experience across the different steps of the sales cycle
  • Confidence in building new relationships
  • Strongly motivated and target-oriented
  • Persistence in tenacity to pursue, progress and convert new opportunities
  • Experience and understanding of the hospitality industry, with the ability to communicate
    effectively and establish credibility with hospitality professionals
  • Proactive and driven, with the ability to work independently and autonomously manage and
    grow own pipeline of opportunities
  • Passion for tackling social and environmental issues related to food and hospitality
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with
    global stakeholders at varying levels
  • Additional languages particularly welcome
