Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Responsible for providing dynamic leadership to the Division I Women’s Soccer program, overseeing all aspects of team development, recruitment, and performance. This role involves implementing effective coaching strategies to enhance the team’s competitiveness, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations. The Head Coach will be instrumental in recruiting high-caliber student-athletes, supporting their academic success, and promoting the program within the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides strong leadership and guidance to the Women’s Soccer team, fostering a positive and competitive team culture
2. Develops and implements effective coaching strategies, training programs, and game plans to enhance the team’s performance
3. Recruits highly skilled and academically motivated student-athletes to build a competitive and well-rounded team
4. Maintains strong relationships with high school and club coaches, as well as actively engage in recruiting events
5. Oversees the individual skill development of players through effective coaching techniques and training programs
6. Implements a comprehensive strength and conditioning program to enhance player performance and reduce the risk of injuries
7. Monitors and supports the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with NCAA academic standards
8. Collaborates with academic support services to facilitate the academic success of student-athletes
9. Ensures compliance with NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations
10. Effectively manages the program’s budget, including travel, equipment, and other operational expenses
11. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and adhere to university financial policies
12. Actively engages with the community, alumni, and fans to promote the Women’s Soccer program and build support
13. Represents the university and the athletics program positively at public events and in the media
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s from an accredited institution of higher education
Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted driver’s license
Current, and valid CPR/AED certification
Required Experience
Five (5) years of successful coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Previous coaching experience in a NCAA Division I level program
ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
Commitment to the academic success and personal development of student-athletes
Proven ability to recruit and retain high-caliber student-athletes
Stays current on all NCAA and conference rules and regulations related to Women’s Soccer
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
