They seek to expand the YCBA’s unique art and medicine programs for medical trainees, nursing students, and other healthcare professionals and its object-focused programs for neurodiverse adults and children. The Head of Education builds on and further develops the YCBA’s educational offerings through active collaboration with museum and university colleagues, as well as community partners.
The Head of Education welcomes and engages with the YCBA’s diverse audiences, including the general public; students and faculty at Yale University and other colleges and universities; and teachers, students, and families from primary and secondary schools in New Haven and in districts from the broader geographical region. The Head of Education liaises with other cultural, educational, and historical institutions, as well as colleges and universities, to expand the YCBA’s outreach and enrich the institution’s programs.
The Head of Education supervises and mentors a staff of professional museum educators, an administrative assistant, and postgraduate fellows, as well as volunteers, interns, and Student Guides. They are responsible for department budgets and all department operations.
