About the team & role:

This is a great time for a talented, self-driven professional to join our team at
Gloucestershire County council. Working as a member of the senior leadership team, you will
have full accountability for leading and developing our environment, recycling, and waste
services on behalf of the County Council in partnership with the Districts Councils.

About you:

The ideal candidate will understand and apply the principles and practice of the circular
economy and the vital role of local authorities within it. Most importantly, the role calls for
a high level of energy and enthusiasm coupled with exceptional political awareness,
interpersonal and consensus building skills.

Based in Gloucester the successful candidate will need to have a strong grasp of the
technicalities of service delivery, climate change, contract management and customer
expectations. The role leads on core priorities of climate change and biodiversity as well as
air quality, household recycling centres, waste disposal and treatment, and our traveller’s
service.
