Purpose of the Role:
As a newly created role, the Head of Fundraising plays a pivotal role in the organisation, responsible for growing, leading, and nurturing a team of fundraising professionals. The primary goal is to drive income generation across a portfolio including donations, direct marketing appeals including donor acquisition, and regular (including workplace) giving, bequests and community fundraising.
Reporting to the CEO and working alongside the senior leadership team, this role will strategically identify new target market groups to ensure consistent revenue growth as the organisation aims to double fundraising revenue achieved in 2023 over the next 5 years.
The Head of Fundraising will foster effective working relationships within the team to encourage collaboration and engagement in ANZGOG’s strategy delivery.
We are seeking an ambitious fundraiser with demonstrable experience within a team of success and achievement. You will need to understand what it takes to grow a fundraising program in terms of strategy, fundraising disciplines and management of staff to KPIs to deliver significant fundraising outcomes.
This role is joining a small team but there is fantastic scope for this role to be a dynamic and respected leadership role within the organisation, building an effective team based on success.
Key Accountabilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute national fundraising strategies, including key campaigns, to meet income growth targets.
- Stakeholder Management: Effectively manage internal and external stakeholder relationships to support fundraising activities.
- Team Leadership: Lead the Fundraising Team to plan and execute a variety of fundraising activities ethically, staying abreast of fundraising trends and laws.
- Donor Engagement: Engage donors and key stakeholders in the WomenCan fundraising brand, ensuring strong links with ANZGOG.
- Brand Awareness: Build public recognition and support for the WomenCan brand and its role within ANZGOG through fundraising initiatives and campaigns, aligning with organisational strategies and policies.
- Innovation: Drive innovation across fundraising activities, including digital channels, identifying and pursuing new income streams and enhancing existing activities for organisational sustainability.
- Relationship Strategies: Develop sensitive and respectful strategies to increase the value of bequests, corporate, and major donor contributions.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets and forecasts based on trend analysis and donor segmented data to ensure reliability in financial forecasts for all fundraising activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Marketing, Nonprofit Management).
- Proven experience in fundraising management, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to grow, motivate and inspire others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and planning abilities, with a track record of achieving fundraising targets.
- A data driven Fundraiser with strong data skills and the ability to use the CRM for monitoring, reporting and analysis of activity.
- Proven capabilities in simultaneously working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of fundraising trends, best practices, and legal requirements.
- Experience in budget management and financial forecasting.
- Creativity and innovation in developing fundraising strategies and campaigns.
- The ability to collaborate with others throughout an organisation to strive for results while creating an enriching work environment.
