London | £115,000 + Car Allowance & Excellent BenefitsIrwin and Colton have been engaged by a high-profile specialist construction contractor to recruit their Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability. The organisation’s turnover is in the region of £200m and they are seeking a safety professional who can ensure their SHES program continues to deliver to the highest standard. This individual will be required to lead by example, being visible across the organisation from site level to the Boardroom.Responsibilities for the Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability will include:Leading the Health and Safety team ensuring the successful delivery of the strategy on siteEngaging with senior managers, clients and external stakeholders ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical health and safety related enquiresContinually developing and reviewing the health, safety management system in line with the industries best practiceConducting major health and safety incident investigation to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrenceThe successful Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability candidate will have:Proven leadership experience in a similar role ideally within construction or civil engineering, RC Frame or a related industryExperience in influencing, engaging and coaching senior management and site level operationsIdeally Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH)A strong technical knowledge across relevant health and safety legislation, compliance, and regulationsThis position will require an individual who is passionate about Health and Safety and high performance.
