ABOUT THE COMPANYAre you a Head of Pre-construction who has worked on fit-out and refurbishment projects?Do you have a track record of bringing in business and projects for companies?Are you looking for a role that offers complete autonomy and allows you to manage your diary on a weekly basis?Then this might be the role for you…I’m currently working with a small fit-out contractor in West London who is looking for a Head of Pre-construction to join their team.About the company:My client is a small but successful fit-out contractor based in West London who specialises in fit-out and small works projects up to £1.5m. With a close-knit team, my client has built a strong relationship with main contractors and MOD clients. In a financially strong position, my client is looking to bolster its pre-construction and work pipeline generation by bringing in a Head of Pre-construction.ABOUT THE ROLEAs Head of pre-construction, you will oversee and manage all tenders/enquires. The post holder will ensure that all tenders are completed on time and to the required standard. Managing client expectations will be a key purpose of the role along with managing the handover process to our projects delivery team upon project award. In addition to this, the post holder will also offer technical support to the projects delivery team.In this role, you will ensure timely and high-quality bid submissions. You will report on each bid’s progress against agreed schedules and review technical solutions for cost efficiency. Presenting detailed information, including technical responses, staffing, and administrative structures, for internal approval will be key. You will coordinate, prepare, and continuously review bid submissions while organizing meeting schedules and coordinating design and construction teams.You will prepare bid presentations and actively expand and maintain relationships with both new and existing clients. Additionally, you will provide coaching and mentoring to engineers, offering technical advice and guidance within your area of expertise. Participation in departmental meetings and other duties aligned with your skills to achieve business goals or complete contracts will also be required.Your ability to manage the bid process, from technical solution reviews to client relationship development, will be crucial to the role. You will be a key player in driving successful bid outcomes and contributing to the team’s overall success.REQUIREMENTSYou will have an enquiring approach, eager to explore innovative ideas while maintaining a strong commercial balance. Essential qualifications include technical knowledge and qualifications within the commercial gas, plumbing, HVAC, BMS, and electrical industries. You must have experience in a customer-facing role, demonstrating a proven track record of building client relationships, and the ability to produce estimates and tenders.You will scrutinize and verify supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance with specifications, and must be able to read drawings and design specifications. Evidence of continued professional development and proven management skills, including the ability to lead and manage individual performance, are essential.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimation software is required. You will produce management reports, KPIs, and financial data to demonstrate service delivery and improvement, and devise service plans and strategies to meet deadlines and targets. Qualifications within the industry and at least 10 years in a senior role are desirable. Existing relationships with clients and mechanical contractors are advantageous.REWARDS AND BENEFITS
