Job description

Are you an experienced Procurement professional seeking an exciting challenge with a unique organisation that blends public sector influence with commercial activity? Do you thrive in roles where you can make a significant impact while enjoying autonomy and flexibility?

My client is a leading Public Sector organisation based close to Epsom with the role being office based two or three times a week. We are looking for a driven Head of Procurement to join the team in a vital role that will help continue the growth that both the organisation and Procurement have seen in recent months.

The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience of leading and interacting with senior internal and external stakeholders to successfully deliver large scale and high-risk procurements from end to end for complex programmes.

The main responsibilities of the Head of Procurement are as follows:

  • Lead end-to-end procurement cycles, placing a strong emphasis on stakeholder engagement and delivering exceptional value for money.
  • Manage a diverse range of procurement projects spanning various categories.
  • Support on various transformation and change projects, leading procurement activity in line with public sector procurement regulations.
  • Build excellent relationships with suppliers in order to effectively manage contracts, review supplier performance and ensure that the best value for money is being achieved.

Furthermore, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to take on a leading role that will allow you to shape not only your own career but the procurement function as a whole. This is due to the responsibility you will be given running your own contracts and tenders at varying sums and the regular exposure and interaction you will have with senior managers and stakeholders.

The successful candidate for the Head of Procurement role will have:

  • Extensive experience in delivering end-to-end procurement cycles.
  • A deep understanding of public sector procurement methodology and regulations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
