The Head of Programs supports the Country Director (CD) in developing, setting up, implementing and monitoring activities in the country. He/she is responsible for supervising and coordinating Solidarités programs in the country of assignment.
ISSUES AND SPECIFIC CHALLENGES

Coordination and operational monitoring;

Capitalization.
PRIORITIES ON THE 2-3 FIRST MONTHS
Supports the coordination team and base teams in launching activities;
Ensures Recruitment, induction and training of the program team at Coo level, support the FCs in this process at base level;
Follows up of Current activities in the country with the FC and ensure monitoring tools are followed up and activities implemented according to the planning and technical requirements;
Coordinate design and writing of new proposals and contribute to the development of an intervention strategy for the country.
YOUR PROFILE
DIPLOMAS
Master Degree in humanitarian/development studies, social sciences, management or other related discipline.
EXPERIMENT IN THE HUMANITARIAN SECTOR
5+ years.
EXPERIMENT ON SIMILAR POSITIONS
3-4 years.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong knowledge of donors’ policies and guidelines. Experience with ECHO, BHA or CDCS;
Experience working in countries with strong administrative regulations and in coordination with local authorities;
Strong knowledge of principled-based and experience of diplomatic approaches;
Good reporting and writing skills;
Previous experience and achievements in working in consortium and strong partnerships with NGOs locals and internationals (MoUs, negotiations, governance…);
Proven ability to deal with donors and operational partners;
Strong Knowledge and experience in SI sectors of expertise (WASH, FSL, Shelter);
Experience of mission opening phase.
TRANSVERSAL SKILLS
Proven management ability, including ability to motivate and develop skills of team’s members;
Excellent communication, networking skills, organizational and prioritization skills, ability to multi-task;
Capacity to adapt and show organizational flexibility;
Cross cultural sensitivity and great team player;
Proven ability to develop adapted humanitarian vision and strategy;
Capacity to engage and manage technical staff and curiosity towards their expertise;
Experience working with SI (or a similar organization) is an asset;
Prior experience in East Africa would be considered as an asset.
LANGUAGES
English compulsory, knowledge of a local language would be an asset.
