Head of Public Spaces

Are you passionate about the countryside, open spaces and nature conservation? Are you a
committed, agile and enthusiastic senior manager looking for a new and exciting challenge? If
you are, Gosport Borough Council has an exciting opportunity for you to lead our Countryside and
Open Spaces service. 

The Council has recently re-structured the service to ensure we are providing the best grounds
maintenance service enhancing the beauty, value and quality of our open spaces, these include
our Country Park and many beach front and recreational play areas.

If you are innovative, collaborative and enthusiastic with experience at both strategic and
operational level in this sector we would like to hear from you about joining our new
management team.

Gosport Borough is on the south coast, boasting a heritage with centuries of links to the Royal
Navy. Its unique waterfront and 25 miles of coastline gives it a special character. It is also
a Borough with unique regeneration opportunities. Advanced manufacturing, aerospace and marine
sectors are strongly represented and as military needs have changed, the Borough has acquired
many development sites with huge character and potential for regeneration.

There is also the opportunity for the successful applicant to help shape the development of the
Council’s Reconnecting Gosport’s Historic Waterfront project by utilising the funding awarded
under the government’s Levelling Up Programme.
