We are looking for Head of Residential (AOD) to join and lead our teams of the Western Region, on a permanent full-time basis located in either Corio or Ballarat with flexibility required to travel between both sites with occasional travel to our head office based at St. Kilda.
The Head of Residential Western Region oversees the operational and programmatic functions of residential rehabilitation sites. This role is responsible for ensuring resources are effectively sourced and allocated to meet the service delivery needs.
Currently Windana has two residential AOD rehabilitation centres in the Western region: a 30-bed centre in Corio and a 20-bed centre based in Ballarat. Be a Leader and a mentor for the two teams consisted of senior employees, Clinicians and Nursing employees as well as frontline Peer, Support and Operations Workers, ensuring the centres are aligned and able to meet strategic and operational goals of the program, ultimately obtaining the best outcomes for clients.

- Ensure the development of all staff occurs through effective rostering, budgeting, regular supervision and performance development conversations.

- Lead financial management, overseeing budgets, performance, optimising expenditures, and spearheading revenue-raising initiatives to achieve site-wide or area-wide financial objectives.
- Lead asset management, oversee assets, optimising their use, and ensuring compliance with organisational asset management strategies.
- Manage the site by efficiently coordinating maintenance schedules, WHS compliance, and other site-related activities, ensuring the site operates seamlessly and meets all regulatory operational, legislative, industry and accreditation requirements.
The person we’re looking for will have:
- Experience in leading and managing a residential facility or other similar site with an ability to meet or even exceed success measures.
- Knowledge and significant experience working within Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health or Community service.
- Demonstrated people management and/or Leadership skills and experience including budgeting, workforce development and conflict management.
- Strong experience in external stakeholder negotiation and ability to effectively engage at multiple levels including the CEO.
- High level of interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to adapt and reprioritise as required based on the needs of the program.
- Strong experience in case management and conducting drug withdrawal and physical health assessments and risk management strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Allied Health or other Social Science Field.
- Post Grad in AOD or Cert IV AOD essential.
