About the role

The Head of Risk and Governance is a critical component of RANSW’s risk mitigation and risk management framework and provides high level advice and support to the Executive and Leadership teams, the Board, as well providing quality advice and solutions to staff teams in the support of RANSW’s programme delivery.

You’ll be responsible for a broad range of functions that ultimately promote the work and governance of the organisation, with a focus on leading the day to day management of the corporate quality, risk, compliance, and audit functions, including overseeing implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related systems, processes and plans alongside the management of the privacy compliance framework.

In addition, you’ll provide guidance and support throughout the organisation to foster collaboration, whilst promoting and embedding a continuously improving risk management culture within RANSW at both a staff and Board level.

Details:

  • Full time position, willing to consider 4 days per week or 9 day fortnight for the right candidate
  • Attractive salary + super
  • Plus salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 (less tax can mean more take home pay) for eligible candidates
  • Up to $2,650 of pre-tax income can be used to pay for entertainment expenses (meals, holiday accommodation etc.) for eligible candidates
  • Based at Macquarie Park with hybrid working options available

What you’ll bring

  • Degree in Business, Law or Management or equivalent education or experience
  • A strong track record in risk management and in conducting risk assessments within multiple categories of risk
  • Proven experience in quality auditing, compliance management, risk management and privacy compliance frameworks, processes and systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary risk management models, principles and techniques and understanding of strategy, governance, and performance dynamics
  • Previous experience in developing and implementing enterprise risk management (ERM) at a senior level
  • An understanding of the human or community services sector or a related field and the political / regulatory arena in which RANSW operates alongside a Not for Profit or cause related organisational experience is desirable
  • Strong relationship and communication skills with the ability to develop credibility, build, lead, and manage the quality, risk, and audit agenda across the organisation
  • Experience in developing innovative solutions and analysing and addressing risk to assist in meeting organisational objectives
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills with the ability to be hands on and strategic
