The Role

Oxfam Great Britain is looking for a Head of Strategy Learning who will maximise the use of evidence for strategic management guided by our learning and accountability framework. This role will involve providing conceptual and technical leadership for the learning architecture for strategic priorities of the Impact division. Our themes include climate justice, decolonizing partnerships, valuing women’s work, policy and advocacy, and the triple nexus approach. The work is highly collaborative, working with colleagues in the Global South and the UK, and Oxfam International to provide advisory support on learning processes, and design and pilot learning innovations. The postholder will manage the Learning and Accountability Manager and a divisional strategic learning budget.

To develop learning and communication processes and enable systems that are key for organisational learning, by working closely with others in Oxfam Great Britain (OGB) and the Confederation. To bring coherence to distinct pieces of learning and accountability as per organisational commitments.

What we are looking for

Our next Head of Strategy Learning will be highly experienced in strategic planning, evaluative practice and learning approaches. You will be a skilled facilitator of reflective practice with programmatic / national teams, able to work sensitively with power dynamics. You will able to build and hold many strong relationships across many contexts globally, including high-profile external relationships. You show deep commitment to and experience with decolonial, safe, anti-racist, intersectional feminist and partner-led learning. You have a high level of analytical and strategic thinking. You enjoy thinking creatively about learning processes and products, and getting stuck in to make them happen. Given the strategic communication needed to senior levels of the organisation and externally, you have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

We offer

This role will give you an opportunity to continue developing Oxfam GB’s learning and accountability architecture and approaches, in collaboration with colleagues in the confederation. It is innovative and creative work, working with diverse topics and scales in many different geographies. The work is on the cutting edge of learning and accountability practice. You will be able to model approaches that decolonise knowledge processes and shift power away from the traditional power centre.

We offer a competitive salary and a range of additional benefits to staff including flexible working options, generous pension scheme, annual leave, additional leave allowances, company sick pay, life assurance and a range of other benefits. The role will give you many avenues to stretch and learn. Our wide range of learning and development opportunities includes in-house courses, e-learning modules, on-the job learning opportunities, coaching and mentoring, and more.
