headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation with EACH being one of the lead agencies. Each year, headspace nationally assists thousands of young people, and their family and friends, access vital support through headspace services in over 145 communities across Australia, including online and phone counselling services, vocational services, and a presence in schools.
About the role
EACH is seeking a dedicated Service Manager to oversee the operational and clinical governance of the headspace centre being established on the eastern shore in Tasmania. This pivotal role ensures compliance with the headspace model integrity framework (hMIF) and funding specifications, while leading a multi-disciplinary team and supporting the senior leadership group. You will be responsible for strategic planning, operational accountability, and the development of functional systems and relationships within and outside the service.
Key responsibilities:
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning
- Provide strategic guidance and practical support for service delivery
- Monitor and maintain the quality of work through daily supervision and support
- Address ethical issues related to youth services
- Coordinate projects and partnerships to achieve mutually beneficial goals
- Establish the service as a centre of excellence for youth-focused and family-sensitive practice
- Support the headspace Youth Advisory Committee and ensure youth participation
- Participate in and oversee staff meetings, case reviews, quality management, and consortium meetings

Qualifications
As an experienced leader with a passion for youth mental health, you possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a similar role
- Extensive clinical skills and experience in child and youth mental health service delivery
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant health field with AHPRA registration or eligibility for professional association membership
- High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, consult, negotiate, and collaborate with various stakeholders
- Proven track record in managing clinical services for mental health and/or substance abuse issues
- Experience working with diverse populations, including CALD, Indigenous, LGBTIQA, and at-risk youth
- Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and issues informing health services for young people and families
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and reviewing governance frameworks, quality improvement, and compliance monitoring
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership, supervision, service flow management, and multidisciplinary relationships
