ROLE SUMMARY:
As the Health and Nutrition Technical Coordinator, you will be the strategic driver and technical leader of CARE’s health and nutrition programs in Sudan. Your mission will be to ensure gender integration, technical excellence, and the highest quality of program design and implementation. You will champion health and nutrition strategies, lead project design and fundraising, and coordinate with key stakeholders to amplify CARE’s impact on the ground. KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and oversee CARE’s health and nutrition strategy, collaborating with teams, partners, and global experts.
- Program Excellence: Establish and maintain program protocols and best practices, ensuring compliance with donor, Cluster, MoH, and CARE standards.
- Gender Integration: Advocate and implement gender-sensitive and inclusive practices, embedding gender-based violence awareness into programs.
- Technical Guidance: Mentor health and nutrition teams, ensuring clarity in objectives and excellence in execution.
- Project Design & Fundraising: Lead project conceptualization, conduct situation analyses, and spearhead proposal development for new initiatives.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Support the preparation of high-quality reports, facilitate MEAL processes, and contribute to advocacy materials.
- External Representation: Represent CARE at national and international forums, fostering strong relationships with NGOs, UN agencies, donors, and government bodies.
- Emergency Response: Drive the rapid start-up of health and nutrition projects during crises, ensuring timely and effective responses.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: At least 5 years in humanitarian health and nutrition program management within complex environments, with a focus on emergency response.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated ability in program design, research methodologies, training facilitation, and compliance monitoring.
- Fundraising Skills: Proven success in proposal writing and securing funds from institutional donors.
- Analytical Acumen: Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills, data analysis capabilities, and report preparation.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Knowledge of Sudan’s humanitarian context and adept at working across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Technological Proficiency: Familiar with MS Office and relevant data analysis tools.
