An exciting opportunity has arisen within UNICEF Mozambique for a passionate and committed Health Manager P4 level based in Maputo (open to non-Mozambican nationals only) seeking new challenges in a rewarding programming context to bring results for children.
The Health Manager (P4) reports to the Chief of Health & Nutrition (P5) for general guidance and supervision. S/He is responsible for leading the management, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of the health programme (immunization, maternal, neonatal, child survival/development, HIV/AIDs, emergencies; cross sectoral work with Nutrition, WASH, Education, Social Policy, SBC and Child Protection) and, in coordination with the Nutrition Manager, supporting the Chief in the successful implementation of the Survive & Thrive outcomes for first and second decade within the country programme. S/He provides technical guidance and operational support throughout the programming process to facilitate the achievement of concrete and sustainable results, according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), organizational Strategic Plans and goals, standards of performance, and accountability framework.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- An advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in one of the following fields is required: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology or another relevant technical field.
- A minimum of eight years of professional experience in two or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal, neonatal, and child health care, health systems’ strengthening and/or HIV/AIDs.
- Proven experience in health emergency/humanitarian preparedness required.
- Experience in key performance indicator and financial management.
- Proven team management experience required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
- Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese or a Latin language is required.
