About the opportunity

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Health Program Manager responsible for the Chronic Conditions and associated health concerns portfolio of work to join our Program Operations team. The Health Program Manager will work closely with Primary Health Tasmania’s functional business units to deliver health system initiatives that address the health needs of Tasmanian’s. The Health Program Manager will play a key role in supporting strong collaboration and communication across the organisation in efficient and effective outcome delivery.

The areas of focus for the role will potentially change over time, however the current health focus areas are:

  • Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs;
  • (This role’s portfolio) Chronic Conditions and associated health concerns for target populations including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Aged Care, Palliative Care, Primary Care Enhancement for people with Intellectual Disability.

What you would be doing

Reporting to the General Manager Program Operations, you will:

  • Establish and lead a high performing team of Health Projects Leads
  • Support the initiation of new projects
  • Facilitate program planning and ongoing monitoring of progress
  • Provide strategic oversight in delivery and implementation of projects
  • Ensure a coordinated approach to external stakeholder engagement
  • Be responsible for the program team’s operational management including workload allocation, budget management, project funding compliance and procurement
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of program and project management functions.

Here’s what you’ll look like

  • Relevant business, program/project management or similar qualifications
  • Relevant experience across any of the health areas of focus highly regarded
  • Demonstrated strong strategic leadership capabilities
  • Advanced program/project management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, plan and prioritise, solve problems and be adaptable in a fast paced, complex operational environment
  • Ability to travel if required (intrastate and interstate).
