- Achieve & maintain recognized standards of professional competence and undertake continuous professional development to ensure the site is best positioned to fulfil its statutory obligations.
- Advising senior management of any new safety legislation or changes in existing legislation which may affect them.
- Setting up and maintaining good reporting procedures, communications and distribution of information between employees.
- Providing general assistance, when requested, to the company in the fulfilment of its obligations and duties as set out in statutes and by clients/principal contractors.
- Representing the site and liaising with all enforcing authorities as required.
- Providing assistance when requested, in the formulation of safe systems of work and project specific method statements.
- Providing specific health, safety & environment training to company employees and others as and when required.
- Providing an interpretation, when requested, of safety legislation so that the management fully understands the actions required in order to meet the legislation.
- Assisting, where required, with the initial implementation of the changes required by changes to safety legislation.
- Advise, support and guide management on new and existing environment legislation and developments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Responsible for ensuring the Company meets the conditions and schedules of the site’s Environment Permit.
- Ensure timely reporting to the Environment Agency the quarterly and annual returns.
Skills and Experience Required
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior HSE role Desirable.
- Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate Minimum or Higher Qualification.
- Thorough knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment Regulations and Legislation.
- Health, Safety & Environment background in Food Manufacturing or a high-Risk Industry.
- First class computer and administration skills.
- Ability to work in an environment of constantly changing demands.
