The Opportunity
The role purpose of the Health Technical Advisor is to support the in and out facility Adolescent friendly Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (ASRH&R) service delivery, the provision of data needed for resource mobilization, assessment of effectiveness and efficiency of Adolescent friendly SRH&R services, strengthen involvement of beneficiaries and community and promote integration of gender (mainstream gender and address its concerns in all ASRH&R activities), education, governance, livelihood components for the delivery of Plan for Girls (P4G) Project activities as one.
This role is important to shift from a clinical approach to an effective community-based health promotion and preventive care with the involvement of beneficiaries and communities for more efficiency, effectiveness and accountability.
Responding to the need to develop an integrated package of interventions for adolescent girls, this project aims to bring adolescent girls and boys together with government and non-government stakeholders (including the elected representatives and local government functionaries, development partners, NGOs, CBOs, Community leaders and Private Sector partners) to collectively deliver girl-led planning, implementation and monitoring of a ‘Plan for Girls’ in two communes in Cameroon and four communes in Benin.

 

About You
The incumbent serves as technical reference person for Health issues for the project and Plan field office, and reports to the Project Manager. There is no direct report related to this role but rather strong collaborations with other health positions like GF Global Fund Regional Field Supervisor, Nutrition and Community Health Workers. The Health Technical Advisor represents Plan International Cameroon in all relevant meetings and for a, working closely with the Regional Delegation of Public Health.
The Health Technical Advisor should demonstrate technical expertise in the implementation of (ASRHR) activities, timely and effective delivery of project activities and other outputs (reports, etc.). The position holder will also have a strong commitment to safeguarding, gender equality and participation, with an ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership – and is able to support and train local and international staff – to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner.

Grade: The salary of this position is placed at Grade D1 of Plan International Cameroon’s pay scale and employment benefits will be applied as per the Personnel Manual in vigor.
