University of Bristol Students’ Health Service is a GP practice for University students and their dependents. We are looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to work 21 hours per week as a HCA.

We are a close and friendly primary care practice team that includes GPs, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and other allied professionals at an award winning university health service. Situated within a purpose built practice in a beautiful setting.

We would encourage a visit to the practice to meet the team prior to application.

Please review the two job descriptions attached which outline the HCA role at two different grades and the essential criteria of each. Please then specify in your application which HCA job grade you are interested in (salary is dependent on experience);

Grade D- £22,214-£24,248 per annum, pro rata

Grade E- £24,248-£26,444 per annum, pro rata

As a HCA you will support the work of the clinical staff, and have responsibility for a range of clinical and administrative duties, e.g. phlebotomy (taking blood), taking observations, urinalysis, acting as a chaperone for coil clinics, ordering medical supplies, and stocking up clinical rooms. 

You are a highly motivated, enthusiastic, Health Care Assistant with experience in a primary care setting, ideally with a special interest in the health of young people.

Contract type: Open ended

Work pattern: Part-time, 21 hours per week

Grade: D or E (dependent on experience)

Salary: £22,214-£24,248 / £24,248-£26,444 per annum, pro rata
