Heritage Officer – Anthropologist/Archaeologist

We provide bespoke solutions to a diverse clientele, including the mining industry, residential and commercial developers, local governments, Indigenous Land Councils, engineers, urban planners, private individuals, and museums across Australia.

The role of Project Officer in the Heritage team works with the direction of the Senior Heritage Officer and Heritage Manager to assist with the development and implementation of appropriate processes and documentation, identification, training and oversight of those carrying out heritage works, the establishment of beneficial stakeholder relationships and project coordination and delivery of projects.

What you will bring to the role

• Tertiary Qualification in Anthropology, Archaeology, or other relevant discipline
• Ideally 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management and prioritisation

Key Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate staff for projects
• Write and review reports
• Create and review spatial data and maps
• Co-ordinate surveys in the field
• Prepare and attend field surveys
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders
• Communicate Workplace Health and Safety procedures and ensure adherence with office when in the field
• Liaise with the Heritage Manager and Office Staff regarding project logistics
• Provide or review quotes and tenders
• Consider new research and its potential implementation in the company
• Assist the Senior Project Officer with their duties
