About the Organization
The Amphibian and Reptile Conservancy (ARC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on the conservation and restoration of amphibian and reptile populations and their habitats across the United States. ARC focuses on implementing field programs in high-priority areas for amphibians and reptiles to improve their chances of survival. Our work includes inventory, monitoring, research, habitat restoration, population augmentation, policy, and strategic planning across Priority Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Areas (PARCAs). Position Description
The Field Biologist will support the implementation of field-based conservation and research projects focused on federally listed and at-risk herpetofauna, including gopher tortoise, black pinesnake, and other PARCA focal species. This position will play a key role in gopher tortoise headstarting efforts, assisting with nest location, egg collection, incubation, hatchling care, and release to support population augmentation at Camp Shelby and surrounding landscapes. Additional responsibilities include field data collection, species monitoring, and support of habitat management activities. The technician will work closely with project staff to advance applied conservation actions, contribute to long-term monitoring efforts, and support restoration and management objectives across the program area.
