2. Professor in a top foreign university or scientific research institution; obtain wide recognition of insiders for the academic level with the high professional title.

3. Work in China full time.

b. Top-notch Talent (Associate Professor)

Requirements:

1. Specialize in such fields as global change ecohydrology; hydrology and water resources, water environment, and watershed system structure & functions; meet the criteria of College of Water Sciences, Beijing Normal University for selecting Category C1 talent.

2. Associate Professor in a top foreign university or postdoctoral fellow in scientific research institution; obtain wide recognition of insiders for the academic level.

c. Backbone Talent (Assistant Professor)

Requirements:

1. Specialize in such fields as global change ecohydrology; hydrology and water resources, water environment, and watershed system structure & functions; meet the criteria of College of Water Sciences, Beijing Normal University for selecting Category D2 talent.

2. Associate Professor in a top foreign university or postdoctoral fellow in scientific research institution; obtain wide recognition of insiders for the academic level.

II. Required Materials

(I) Resume (including personal basic information, a photo, educational background, work experience, research field and desired position).

(II) Representative academic paper that has been published [The scientific achievement partition is based on the latest Journal Citation Reports (JCR) published by ISI. Please specify.].

(III) Scanned copies of all academic certificates and diplomas of the bachelor degree and above.

All the materials required shall be packaged as a PDF file, and named in the form of “Name + Highest Degree + University Issuing the Highest Degree + Major”.

IV.  Remuneration package

1. Supporting Benefits of BNU: Candidates recognized as BNU outstanding talents will be employed as Professors, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor or researchers included in the public institution staffing quota.
2. The university will provide a pre-tax annual salary.
3. Research start-up funds will be provided according to discipline foundation and actual needs, to help establish innovative research teams. Additional supporting subsidies will be commensurate with the successful applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional experience. 
4. Help to establish innovative research teams and PhD student enrollment.
5. Child(ren) of candidates will enroll in the affiliated kindergarten, primary school and junior middle school of Beijing Normal University.

V．Introduction of Beijing Normal University

Beijing Normal University (BNU) grew out of the Education Department of Imperial University of Peking established in 1902, which initiated teacher training in China’s higher education. After the development for over a century, BNU has become a comprehensive and research-intensive university with its main characteristics of basic disciplines in sciences and humanities, teacher education and educational science.

According to 2020 QS World University Rankings, BNU is ranked the 277th among the world universities, and the 10th among Chinese mainland universities. In 2017, BNU has been listed in the “world-class universities”, and 11 disciplines have been selected for China’s “Double-First Class” Initiative. The disciplines of Education, Psychology, Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, Theater film & television，Geography graded A+ in the recent national evaluation.

At present, the university has established cooperative ties with about 500 universities and international organizations from more than 30 countries and regions. Each year, above 900 international professors and scholars are invited to lecture and research at the University. And BNU has around 2000 long-term international students, the scale of which ranks among top in China’s universities.

VI. Introduce of College of Water Sciences

The College of Water Sciences (CWS), Beijing Normal University was formally founded in January 2005, on the initiative of two academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences, i.e., hydrologist Changming Liu and hydrogeologist Xueyu Lin. Since then, the CWS has always been academics-oriented and actively adapted to the need of social development, with a focus on fostering the students’ research ability, practice ability, and team spirit. Our graduates can be found all over China and have been approved by many employers.

In the past few years, more than a hundred of research projects were successively completed, including those funded by the 973 Program, the 863 Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, the Major Project of the National Social Science Foundation, the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Major Science and Technology Project of Water Pollution Control and Treatment, the Major Project of Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Beijing Municipal Natural Science Foundation. In addition, close cooperation and exchange relationships were established with many universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia.

Today, while Beijing Normal University is developed as a “Double First- Class” university in China, the CWS is also having great opportunities for development.
