Primary Purpose The HEP Ambassador will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and recruiting qualified candidates for the High School Equivalency Program. This position will work closely with the HEP Recruitment Specialist and the HEP Program Coordinator to develop and execute a recruitment strategy that will help the program meet its enrollment goals.
This position will work 20 hours/week. You will be expected to work up to 4 hours a day depending on scheduled program commitments and events. It is required to work two Saturdays each month during the course of employment.
This position requires candidates to engage in primarily field-based recruitment efforts with weekly or bi-weekly in-office meetings.
Essenatial Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify and source qualified candidates for the High School Equivalency Program through a variety of channels, including talking to farm workers, provide information about the program in specific places, and networking.
  • Travel for recruitment events around the Central Oregon area including: Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Culver, Madras, LaPine, and Prineville.
  • Work with the HEP Recruitment Specialist and with the Program Coordinator to develop and execute a recruitment strategy that will help the program meet its enrollment goals.
  • Maintain a database of qualified candidates and track their progress through the recruitment process.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using the English language with or without the use of an interpreter.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Possess reliable transportation, ability to manage a flexible work schedule, and travel throughout College district as required.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Forms, and Google Calendar.
  • Familiarity with web-based meeting platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Ergonomic Requirements Regular office hours are established between 8 am – 5 pm during the workweek. A flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends, may be necessary due to the nature of the responsibilities. Occasional lifting up to 25lbs. All individuals are required to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
    Minimum Requirements 1. High School diploma or GED
    2. Bilingual in English/Spanish
