As a Highway Network Inspector you will support the continued improvement in the quality and safety of street works within Bracknell Forest to minimise the impact it has on our road network and its users.Can you make a difference to the environment we live in by making sure street and road work sites are safe and compliant on our highway network?We inspect a high proportion of street and roadwork sites and need a Highway Network Inspector to join our team. With an accreditation in Street Works, you will have proven experience of dealing with traffic management issues and a familiarity with reinstatement specifications. You will also be well-organised with effective communication skills and an awareness of relevant legislation.If this sounds of interest, we would like to hear from you.What it’s like working in our team…You will be a key member within the Highway Network Management team, responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring streetworks works on the highway to ensure the network runs smoothly.   • Investigating site enquiries to conclusion
  • Ensuring compliance with streetworks regulations, codes of practice and local procedures
  • Inspecting work in progress and checking reinstatements
  • Minimising delays and disruption to highway users
  • Being the eyes and ears of the team out on the highway network

What we’re looking for…We are looking for an able and enthusiastic person with strong organisational and communication skills to focus on the inspection and management of streetworks on the highway network. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of road and street works operations in accordance with NRSWA and TMA.As the team operates in a highly reactive work environment you should be able to prioritise your own workload, work to tight deadlines, be methodical in your approach, use initiative and operate with minimum supervision.You should be educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including good passes in English and Maths.This role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence.Interview dateInterviews will be held w/c 1st July 2024Interviews will be conducted in person, providing candidates with the chance to personally meet the team and experience our work environment.
