The role
The City of Kingston Home Maintenance team play an important role within the community, addressing home and garden maintenance issues that will support eligible residents to remain living safely & securely in their own home.
This role is based in Dingley Village working across the City of Kingston.
We have three positions on offer:
- Two full time positions on-going
- One part-time position on-going (four days a week)
About you
The successful applicant will have the ability to complete a broad range of property maintenance and repairs, pro-actively identifying potential risks within the home that may impact on client well-being. Garden maintenance experience is essential, and any horticultural training welcomed. You will also need to have a working knowledge of the range of home modifications that enhance functional independence, such as the design and placement of handrails.
Most importantly, you will have excellent communication skills, a mature and accountable work ethic and a willingness to support the frail aged and clients with a disability.
A current Victorian Drivers Licence is essential, with a Trade qualification or equivalent experience desirable. The home maintenance program is aligned with the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) and applicants are encouraged to become familiar with the principles of this program.
