Your new team

Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 12 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.

The Hospital Outreach Post­suicidal Engagement (HOPE) team is a program made up of a multidisciplinary team including clinical and non ­clinical staff with lived experience. We provide brief enhanced support and assertive outreach to young people who have presented with suicidal ideation and/or a suicide attempt.

We provide a service to people for up to a 12 week period. This is your opportunity to be part of the ongoing development and establishment of a new service within Orygen, to provide leadership and support to a diverse range of staff and to make a difference in the lives of those who are presenting with high levels of distress, suicidal ideation and complex psycho social issues.

Your new role

  • Be a leader in the provision of a comprehensive service delivery model for the HOPE service and a key culture carrier across the HOPE service and Orygen.
  • Provide high level clinical expertise as it relates to suicidal ideation and suicidal drivers.
  • Participate in and contribute to clinical and quality activities.
  • Provide clinical leadership and manage the clinical operations of the program as well as supervising staff and students.
  • Deliver excellent clinical care to young people, carers and their families.

About you

  • This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists.
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of discipline specific interventions in a variety of settings, including acute mental health.
  • High level skill in developing comprehensive formulations and supportive plans.
  • Capacity to provide, or develop skills in, integrated assessment, treatment and care for dual diagnosis clients.
