Mercy Corps has worked across Iraq’s 18 governorates since 2003, implementing relief and development programming, more than a third of which has focused on the specific needs of refugees and displaced persons. Mercy Corps Iraq current goal is to work with new and existing civil society, public and private sector partners to meet immediate and long-term needs by strengthening communities’ ability to rebuild amidst increasing crisis. General Position Summary

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the MC office building in Baghdad. This role involves maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping and cleaning to provide efficient and effective service to all departments and program staff.

Essential Job Responsibilities

·       Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the office, kitchen facilities, and bathrooms are kept clean and tidy through tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and washing, ensuring that all cleaning activities and maintenance tasks adhere to safety regulations and health standards to maintain a safe working environment.

·       Identify and Report Repairs: Recognize any necessary repairs within the premises and promptly notify the supervisor for action.

·       Support Event Planning: Assist the supervisor in organizing and planning meetings and gatherings as needed.

·       Inventory monitoring: Monitor the inventory of kitchen supplies and equipment, ensuring they are stocked and in good working condition.

·       Feedback and Improvement: Regularly seek feedback on cleanliness and address any concerns or suggestions from staff to continuously improve service quality.

·       Confidentiality: Handle all sensitive information and situations with discretion, maintaining confidentiality as required.

·       Additional Duties: Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities as reasonably requested by the head of office.

·       Professional Representation: Represent Mercy Corps with professionalism and integrity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None

ACCOUNTABILITY: Accountable to all Mercy Corps Policy and Staff Safety

Reports Directly to: Operations Manager

Works Directly with: Operation staff and office-based staff

Knowledge and Experience

·        Experience working with NGO organizations is preferred.

·        Ability to work as a part of a team and individually.

·        Ability to work with people from different backgrounds and nationalities.

·        A working knowledge of English is desired.

·        Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures

·   Willingness and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

·   Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with project personnel.
